My story

About the blog

Lived my childhood, teens and early professional years in the Middle East, before moving to North America, in my late twenties. I commenced graduate studies and started my family in Canada in early 1989, then moved to the United States in the fall of 1996, to continue my professional track. The combined time I spent in both is more than what I lived in my home country, Egypt. Living in the West was an eye-opening discovery and an enriching experience to my life’s journey. There is a lot to write about America and its people, as there is a lot to share from the East and its culture.

I created this blog to converse openly with my Heart, Mind and Soul with the continent that opened its doors and its people who extended their arms welcoming and making their land a permanent home for my family.

My hope in shedding some light on my personal life experiences is to bring people closer, benefit others, and clear misconceptions for better understanding of people from my background.
